Provider: IMPERICORP X SRL, with its registered office at Str. Valea Lui Mihai nr. 3, Bl. TD14, Et. 10, Ap. 64, Sector 6, București, postal code 061751 — email: contact@impericorp.com
By using the Neva Bible application (the “App”), you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. About Neva Bible
Neva Bible is a mobile application that provides:
- The Bible — in Romanian (the version of His Eminence Bartolomeu Valeriu Anania, 2001, after the Septuagint) and in English (the World English Bible, 2020 Update edition, with the Deuterocanon/Apocrypha)
- The calendar of the Romanian Orthodox Church (feasts, fasts, saints, liturgical readings)
- An Orthodox Prayer Book
- Troparia of the saints and the principal parts of the Akathist to the Annunciation
- A conversation with a spiritually oriented AI assistant, anchored in Holy Scripture and the Tradition of the Romanian Orthodox Church
Neva Bible is NOT:
- A substitute for participation in the liturgical life of the Church
- A substitute for Confession or for the direct counsel of a priest who is a spiritual father
- A medical, psychological, legal or financial advisory service
2. Creating an account
2.1 Requirements
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We ask for your date of birth at registration in order to verify this (see the Privacy Policy, §7).
- You must provide a valid email address that you control.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
- One account per natural person. Multiple accounts belonging to the same person may be suspended.
2.2 Fraudulent activity
We have the right to suspend or delete accounts in the following situations:
- Creating fake accounts or using false identities.
- Abusive use of the AI chat service (e.g. automated requests, scripts, prompt injection attempts).
- Attempts to circumvent the daily usage limits.
- Behaviour that breaches Romanian or EU law.
- Manifestly offensive behaviour (your conversations with the AI are not actively monitored by us; only those answers that you yourself report reach us, together with the question that produced them — see the Privacy Policy, §1.2).
3. Biblical and traditional content
3.1 Holy Scripture
The biblical text provided in Romanian is the Bible after the Septuagint, in the version revised (“diortosită”) by His Eminence Bartolomeu Valeriu Anania, 2001. The rights over this translation belong to their rightful holders (the Publishing House of the Biblical and Mission Institute of the Romanian Orthodox Church and the heirs of His Eminence Bartolomeu). The text is included in the App on the responsibility of its operator. If you are the rights holder and consider that this use is not covered, contact us at the address below for clarification. The English biblical text is the World English Bible (2020 Update edition, with the Deuterocanon/Apocrypha), which is in the public domain.
3.1.1 Editorial notes on the Anania text
For reading on a small screen and for compatibility with modern Romanian orthography, the Anania text has been subjected to the following technical normalisations, which do not modify the meaning, the versification or the dogmatic content of the original translation:
- Modernised diacritics. The old forms
ţ(U+0163) andş(U+015F), resulting from earlier OCR digitisations, have been replaced with the modern formsț(U+021B) andș(U+0219), in accordance with the DOOM3 standard of the Romanian Academy. - Typographic ligatures broken up. The ligatures
fi,fl,ff,ffi, ffl(remaining from the original typesetting) have been converted to the corresponding individual letters (fi,fl,ff,ffi, ffl). - Linking apostrophes normalised to a hyphen. The linking forms of interwar orthography (e.g.
s'a,într'un,dintr'însul,Întru'nceput) have been replaced with the modern hyphenated form (s-a,într-un,dintr-însul,Întru-nceput). This is the only change at the level of spelling that is visible when reading; it complies with DOOM3 and with the current editorial practice of the IBMBOR for digital editions. - Verse numbering kept intact. The chapter and verse system of the 2001 Anania edition has not been modified; all discrepancies relative to the Masoretic numbering (e.g. Ps 9-10 joined, Ps 118 with 176 verses, Ps 151 present) are those original to the Septuagint version revised by His Eminence Bartolomeu.
No intervention has been made upon the lexicon, the syntax, the notes of His Eminence Bartolomeu (which are not displayed in the App), or the structure of the books.
3.2 Calendar and prayers
These materials reflect the tradition of the Romanian Orthodox Church, but they do not all share the same legal status. Each content pack has its own provenance and its own licence:
- The liturgical calendar (the date of Pascha, the fixed and the movable feasts, the fasts, the readings of the day) is computed by the App from the Orthodox paschalion and from the feast tables of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Calendar dates are matters of fact; their assembly and presentation in the App belong to the provider of Neva Bible.
- The feast descriptions shown in the calendar, in Romanian and in English, were written for Neva Bible.
- The short lives of the saints in the English version were written for Neva Bible by IMPERICORP X SRL, based on publicly known facts (dates, names and events are not subject to copyright; the wording is our own). Each entry links to the corresponding OrthodoxWiki (orthodoxwiki.org) page for further reading; OrthodoxWiki’s pages remain subject to OrthodoxWiki’s own terms. The list of these links is shown in the App under Settings → About → “Full list of synaxarion sources”, in both languages.
- The Romanian prayers and troparia (including the principal parts of the Akathist to the Annunciation) are traditional Orthodox texts in the public domain, selected and edited for the App by the Neva Bible team.
- The English prayers and troparia (including the principal parts of the Akathist to the Annunciation) are drawn from Isabel Florence Hapgood’s Service Book (1906), which is in the public domain; a few texts absent from Hapgood were translated by the Neva Bible team.
The sources and licences of the individual materials are listed in the App, under Settings → About. The compilation, editing and presentation of these materials within the App belong to the provider of Neva Bible, within the limits imposed by the licences above.
3.3 Reproduction of content
The content of the App is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Do not copy, redistribute, sell or modify the content for commercial purposes without written agreement. This restriction does not apply to texts in the public domain or made available under open licences (§3.1, §3.2), which you may use in accordance with their licence.
4. The AI assistant
4.1 Nature of the service
The AI assistant in Neva Bible:
- Answers spiritual and life questions in the language of the App (Romanian or English).
- Is based on general language models (OpenAI gpt-4o-mini), guided by instructions in order to remain within the framework of Orthodox teaching.
- Quotes verses retrieved through semantic search from the App’s biblical corpus.
4.2 Limitations
- The AI answers are generated automatically and do NOT substitute for the counsel of a priest who is a spiritual father, of a psychologist, of a physician or of any other specialist.
- The answers may contain inaccuracies, omissions or formulations that do not perfectly reflect the teaching of the Church. Always verify important information with a spiritual father or with an authoritative source.
- For serious matters (severe anxiety, suicidal thoughts, abuse, addictions, medical or legal crisis), get help immediately: call 112 if you are in danger, and for a mental-health problem also seek support from a professional. The numbers below are Romanian emergency and support numbers — not all of them are professional crisis services, and each description says what it offers; if you are outside Romania, use your local emergency number and crisis support service.
- 112 — emergencies (immediate danger, medical emergency); 24/7, free.
- 116 123 — the emotional-support and suicide-prevention line, operated by Direcția Generală de Asistență Socială a Municipiului București (DGASMB, the Bucharest General Directorate for Social Assistance); 24/7, free.
- 0374 456 420 — depreHUB, emotional and psychological support from volunteers, psychology students and psychologists: active listening and referral to other services, in calls of up to 30 minutes. It is not therapy and not an emergency intervention service. It answers at any hour of the day or night. According to the operator, the service is free; the call may be charged as a call to a national number, depending on your plan (it is not an 0800 freephone number). The service is operated by DEPREHUB HOLISTIC SOLUTIONS SRL, a private company.
- 0800 801 200 — TelVerde Antisuicid (Alianța Română de Prevenție a Suicidului), for suicidal thoughts. It answers only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 19:00 until 07:00 the following morning; free from the main fixed and mobile networks; it does not take calls from hidden numbers.
- 0800 500 333 — Helpline ANES (Agenția Națională pentru Egalitatea de Șanse între Femei și Bărbați, the Romanian government agency for equal opportunities between women and men), for domestic violence and human trafficking; 24/7, free.
- 119 — the national number for reporting abuse, neglect, exploitation or violence against a child; 24/7, free.
- 116 111 — Telefonul Copilului, a helpline for children and adolescents; Monday to Friday, 10:00–20:00; free on the Orange, Telekom and Vodafone networks.
- 0800 460 001 — Telefonul Vârstnicului (Fundația Regală Margareta a României), information, social counselling and emotional support for older people; Monday to Friday, 08:00–20:00, and Saturday, 08:00–16:00; free. It is not a crisis line.
- 0800 800 099 — Joc Responsabil, for gambling problems; free.
- Do NOT use the AI as a substitute for Holy Confession. Confession is a Holy Mystery performed by a priest.
4.3 The content of your questions
Your questions are sent to OpenAI’s servers for processing, each together with at most the last 3 exchanges (question and answer) of the current conversation, shortened, so that the assistant understands questions that follow on from the discussion (see the Privacy Policy, §3.3, at https://impericorp.com/neva/privacy). Do not send sensitive information that you would not want to pass through this system (identifiable medical data, passwords, detailed financial data, etc.). The assistant works only after you give your consent to the processing of what you write, which we ask for the first time you open the conversation (see the Privacy Policy, §2.1); the Bible, prayers and calendar work without it.
4.4 Usage limits
- Free Plan: 5 questions to the AI per day (reset at midnight, Romanian time).
- Pro Plan (Monthly / Annual): 200 questions per day (a protective limit against abnormal use). Bona fide users who accidentally exceed this limit may contact us.
- Audio narration (Pro): at most 30,000 characters of narrated text per day, for all narration together; texts already narrated and kept in the cache do not count.
Pro access with no end date (§5.6) has the same limits as the Pro Plan (Monthly / Annual), including for audio narration.
5. Pro subscriptions
5.1 Plans and prices
Neva Bible Pro is offered in two variants, both with automatic renewal:
- Pro monthly (
bchat_pro_monthly) — automatic renewal every month - Pro annual (
bchat_pro_yearly) — automatic renewal every year
The subscription is tied to the Neva Bible account you were signed in to when you bought it and cannot be moved to another Neva Bible account.
The conversation with the assistant, audio narration, cloud sync and reporting an answer work only with your consent to the processing of what you write (see the Privacy Policy, §2.1); if you withdraw that consent (by email, to contact@impericorp.com), these features stop, but the Google Play subscription is not cancelled automatically — if you no longer want to pay, cancel it in Google Play (§5.3) — and the right of withdrawal from the contract and refunds (§5.4) are unchanged.
The price that applies to you is always the one displayed in the App and on the store’s purchase screen (Google Play), before you confirm payment. That is also where you see the applicable taxes and currency conversions. As at the date this document was last updated, the launch prices are 19.99 lei/month and 149.99 lei/year; they may be changed subsequently under the conditions of §5.5, and this document does not take the place of the price displayed at purchase.
5.2 Trial period (where available)
A plan may include, during certain periods, a free trial. If a trial is available for the plan you choose, its duration and conditions are displayed to you in the store before purchase. If you do not cancel before the end of the trial, the subscription continues and you are charged automatically.
5.3 Automatic renewal
Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically, at the end of each period, at the current price of the plan, until you cancel them. So that you are not charged for the next period, cancel the subscription before the renewal date, from Google Play → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Neva Bible → Cancel subscription.
You still have access until the end of the paid period, even if you cancel earlier. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current period; for refunds and the right of withdrawal, see §5.4.
5.4 Right of withdrawal and refunds
Who takes the payment. The subscription is bought through Google Play, which collects the payment as the seller (merchant of record). You can ask us for a refund directly: we issue it from the Google Play Console, and the money goes back through Google Play to the payment method you used. You can also request a refund from Google Play itself (Google Play → Orders & subscriptions), in which case Google decides under its own policies.
Your 14-day right of withdrawal. Neva Bible Pro is a digital service, not digital content: we do not deliver you any text to keep. The Bible, the prayer book, the calendar and the lives of the saints are included in the app for free and work offline — they are not part of the subscription. What you pay for is continuing access to the assistant’s answers, audio narration, the daily reflection and cloud sync, all generated or hosted by us, on demand.
For a services contract, the right of withdrawal under GEO 34/2014 (the transposition of Directive 2011/83/EU) cannot be waived by agreement. The Art. 16 letter m) exception concerns digital content and does not apply here. You therefore have the right to withdraw from this contract, without giving any reason, within 14 days of the conclusion of the contract — the day you bought (activated) the subscription in Google Play.
How to withdraw. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us — IMPERICORP X SRL, Str. Valea Lui Mihai nr. 3, Bl. TD14, Et. 10, Ap. 64, Sector 6, București, postal code 061751, email contact@impericorp.com — of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example, an email or a letter sent by post). You may use the model withdrawal form in §5.4.1, but it is not obligatory. To help us find the subscription quickly, also give us the email address of your Neva Bible account and, if you have it, the Google Play order number (it starts with “GPA.”). To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired. If, within that period, you request a refund from Google Play instead and Google grants it, the effect is the same; if Google refuses it, write to us — Google’s refusal does not affect your right to withdraw from the contract with us.
Effects of withdrawal. If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you for the subscription, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction — through Google Play, to the payment method you bought with — unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. With the refund, the subscription ends, automatic renewal stops and access to the Pro features ends immediately. We do not charge you for the time during which you have already used the subscription.
After the 14 days. You may cancel automatic renewal at any time (§5.3). You keep access until the end of the period already paid for, and the amount paid for that period is not refunded, except where the law or Google Play’s policies provide otherwise, including when Neva Bible or Pro is discontinued (§10.3).
5.4.1 Model withdrawal form
The form below is the model set out in Annex I, Part B, to Directive 2011/83/EU (transposed in Romania as Part B of the Annex to GEO No. 34/2014), with our details filled in. Complete and return it only if you wish to withdraw from the contract — by email to contact@impericorp.com or by post, to the address in the form.
To IMPERICORP X SRL, Str. Valea Lui Mihai nr. 3, Bl. TD14, Et. 10, Ap. 64, Sector 6, București, postal code 061751, Romania, email: contact@impericorp.com:
– I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract for the provision of the following service: Neva Bible Pro subscription (monthly/annual)
– Ordered on: …
– Name of consumer(s): …
– Address of consumer(s): …
– Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper): …
– Date: …
(*) Delete as appropriate.
5.5 Price changes
We may modify prices in the future. Changes apply only to new subscriptions or to existing ones at the next renewal — never retroactively. We will notify you at least 30 days before a price increase.
5.6 Pro access with no end date
In addition to the subscriptions in §5.1, we may grant, at our discretion, Pro access with no end date and no renewal (shown in the App as “Pro · Complimentary”). This access:
- is granted free of charge — it is not sold and cannot be bought in the App or on Google Play;
- lasts for as long as Neva Bible and its Pro features are offered, not for your lifetime or the lifetime of your device;
- ends without compensation if we discontinue Neva Bible or Pro (§10.3), because nothing was paid for it.
5.7 How the contract is concluded
You choose the plan on the Pro screen in the App, read the information about the right of withdrawal there (§5.4), then confirm in the Google Play window, where you see the price and, if there is one, the trial period. The contract is concluded when Google Play confirms the purchase (including the start of a trial period). Until you confirm, you can close the Google Play window or choose another plan, to correct a wrong choice. We do not keep a separate copy of the contract for each user: the terms in force are at https://impericorp.com/neva/terms and in Settings → About → Terms and conditions, and Google sends you the receipt by email. After the purchase we also send you, to the email address of your Neva Bible account, a confirmation email with the details of the purchase, the information on automatic renewal and on the right of withdrawal, the model withdrawal form (§5.3, §5.4, §5.4.1) and the link to these terms, so that you have them on a durable medium; the email can be sent only if the account has a valid email address (see the Privacy Policy, §3.6). The contract can be concluded in Romanian or in English; if the two versions differ, the Romanian version prevails.
6. User conduct
By using Neva Bible, you undertake to:
- ✅ Use the App lawfully and for personal purposes.
- ✅ Respect the rights of other users and of third parties.
- ✅ Keep your account confidential.
You will NOT:
- ❌ Use the App for illegal, fraudulent or harmful purposes.
- ❌ Attempt to access accounts that do not belong to you.
- ❌ Use automated systems to query the AI (bots, scripts, etc.).
- ❌ Attempt to destabilise or reverse-engineer our servers.
- ❌ Reproduce or redistribute the biblical text / the prayers / the content of the App for commercial purposes (this restriction does not apply to texts in the public domain or made available under open licences, §3.1, §3.2, which you may use in accordance with their licence).
- ❌ Use the Neva Bible name, logo or identity without written agreement.
Breach of these rules may lead to the suspension or deletion of the account without prior notice and without refund (§10.2). We tell you in writing, at the latest when the suspension or deletion takes effect, the reasons and how you can contest the decision (by writing to us at contact@impericorp.com).
7. Intellectual property
7.1 Our content
The App’s code, the design, the illustrations, the compilation and the presentation of the content are the property of the provider of Neva Bible or are used with permission.
7.2 Your content
Your conversations with the AI remain yours. We do not claim rights over the questions you write. See the Privacy Policy for how they are stored and processed.
7.3 Copyright complaints
If you hold rights over material included in the App (e.g. a biblical translation, a prayer text, a troparion) and consider that our use is not authorised, contact us and we will review the matter promptly (within 14 working days).
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without explicit or implied warranties as to accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose.
- We are not liable for:
- Inaccuracies or errors in the AI’s answers
- Errors in the calendar, liturgical dates or other informative materials
- Losses resulting from the use of, or the impossibility of using, the App
- Temporary interruptions of the service (maintenance, DDoS attacks, failures at third-party providers)
- Personal decisions taken on the basis of interactions with the AI
Our maximum liability, for any type of cumulated damages, cannot exceed the amount paid by you for the Pro subscription in the last 12 months — or, if you are a free user, 100 RON.
These limitations do not apply in the case of wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or for damages that by law cannot be limited (e.g. liability for the physical integrity of a person).
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights concerning the conformity of the digital service (GEO No. 141/2021) or any other rights you have as a consumer.
9. Changes to the terms
We may update these terms as the App evolves or as new legal requirements arise. Significant changes will be notified to you by email, at least 14 days before they come into force. Continued use after the new terms come into force means acceptance of them.
If you do not agree with the new terms, you may close your account (Settings → DELETE ACCOUNT → “Delete account”) and cease using the App before the date on which they come into force. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription in Google Play: cancel it first (§5.3).
The current version of these terms is always available at https://impericorp.com/neva/terms and in Settings → About → Terms and conditions.
10. Termination
10.1 By you
You may close your account at any time, without prior notice, from Settings → DELETE ACCOUNT → the “Delete account” button. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription in Google Play: cancel it first (§5.3), otherwise it keeps renewing. The amount paid in advance is not returned, except under the right of withdrawal and the refunds in §5.4 and §10.3.
10.2 By us
We may suspend or close your account if:
- You breach these terms
- There are reasonable suspicions of fraud or abusive use
- It is necessary in order to comply with a legal requirement or one of a competent authority
We tell you in writing, at the latest when the suspension or closure takes effect, the reasons and how you can contest the decision (by writing to us at contact@impericorp.com).
If we close your account because you have breached these terms (including the rules in §6), we do not refund the amounts paid for the active subscription. This does not affect your right of withdrawal (§5.4): if you tell us that you withdraw from the contract within the 14 days after it was concluded, we refund the amounts in accordance with §5.4, even if the account has been closed in the meantime.
10.3 Discontinuation of the App or of features
We may stop providing Neva Bible, or a feature of the App, including Pro, only for a valid reason: a requirement of the law or of a competent authority, a security reason, a provider the service depends on ending or changing its service, or the service no longer being economically sustainable. In that case:
- Notice. We will tell you at least 30 days before the discontinuation date, by email. We may discontinue sooner, without this notice, only where an immediate shutdown is required by law or by a competent authority, for a security reason, or because a third-party provider the service depends on ends its service; we will then tell you as soon as possible.
- Paid subscriptions. If we discontinue Neva Bible or Pro, we cancel auto-renewing subscriptions so that you are not charged after the discontinuation date. For the part of a prepaid period that remains unused after the discontinuation date, you receive the refund required by applicable law, that is, an amount proportional to the unused part, through Google Play where possible. If we change or stop only some Pro features and Pro continues, we do so only to improve or adapt the service, for technical reasons or for one of the reasons above, at no cost to you, and we tell you clearly, by email, before the change. If the change affects your access to or use of the service more than in a minor way, you may terminate the contract free of charge within 30 days of the notice or of the change (whichever is later), and we refund the unused part of the paid period.
- Access granted free of charge. Pro access with no end date (§5.6) and any other access granted free of charge ends on the discontinuation date, without compensation, because nothing was paid for it.
- Your data. Until the discontinuation date you can still delete your account and your data in the App (Settings → DELETE ACCOUNT → “Delete account”). If we discontinue Neva Bible, accounts and their data are deleted 90 days after the discontinuation date; what may remain after that is described in the Privacy Policy, §4.1.
- Your statutory rights. Nothing in this section limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory Romanian or European Union law.
11. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This contract is governed by Romanian law, without depriving you of the protection given to you by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you have your habitual residence. Disputes will first be settled through amicable negotiation. If negotiation fails, you may bring proceedings before the Romanian courts at the registered office of the provider of Neva Bible or before the court of your domicile (EU Regulation 1215/2012); we may bring proceedings against you only before the court of your domicile.
If you are a consumer and have a complaint about Neva Bible, you can use:
- A complaint to us: write to contact@impericorp.com (§12). We look into your complaint and answer you in writing.
- The Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC): you can file a complaint with ANPC — https://anpc.ro.
- Alternative dispute resolution (SAL): you can ask for the dispute to be settled out of court through the SAL procedure coordinated by ANPC — https://reclamatiisal.anpc.ro.
- The courts: under the conditions above.
The European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform no longer operates: it was discontinued by Regulation (EU) 2024/3228, with effect from 20 July 2025.
12. Contact
For any question about these terms, write to us:
- Email: contact@impericorp.com
- Postal address: IMPERICORP X SRL, Str. Valea Lui Mihai nr. 3, Bl. TD14, Et. 10, Ap. 64, Sector 6, București, postal code 061751
12.1 Single point of contact and notices of illegal content
The address contact@impericorp.com is Neva Bible’s single point of contact under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services, both for the authorities of the Member States, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services and for users. You can write to us in Romanian or in English.
- What we keep on our servers. On our servers we keep content written by users only in the account data (the display name), in the Pro-synchronised data (bookmarks, favourite prayers, prayer lists) and in the reports you send us about the assistant’s answers or about the daily reflection. None of it is public. We do not actively monitor this content, nor your conversations with the assistant.
- How to report illegal content. Anyone can report to us by email, at contact@impericorp.com, content they consider illegal. Tell us what the content is, where it is, why you consider it illegal, and your name and email address.
- How we handle reports. Every report is reviewed by a person; we do not use automated moderation. We confirm that we have received the report and tell you our decision and the reasons for it.
This document has been drafted so as to comply with Romanian and EU legislation applicable to consumers. For specific legal clarifications, consult a lawyer.
This document is the English version of Neva Bible’s terms of service. The Romanian version is available at https://impericorp.com/neva/termeni.
